Are there some tricks that I am unaware of when using the search function in the OLF? No matter what I do I never get any results, even when only using one word that I know was in the title of a post.

If you put a "+" sign in front of any word in your search query, the word is designated as must be included in the results. This has helped me. I also designate the results to show post titles only so that I am not sorting through dozens or hundreds of bad hits. I agree that the search function is a bit "sketch" as my daughter would say, but I can usually find what I am looking for by using the suggestions above.

I actually get great results with the search feature, but I'm specific. I enter a few key words or a phrase, choose the forum I want to search, and designate topic titles, who threads, etc.

I have had no success at all using those methods. I was looking for a recent post about sourcing Koa. I remembered seeing it. But only found it after scrolling through several pages of the forum. I got zero results from the search function. I don't understand the process of adding a search function to a forum like the OLF but there certainly must be a better way. I am totally at a loss here. No matter what I search for I get " 0 suitable results found".

Was your search term "koa"? A lot of forum search engines won't accept search terms with only three letters. The search function on this forum has worked fine for me in general.

Doesn't matter what I put in. Didn't work with Khaya either.
Could it because I am viewing the whole dite on mobile device?

Check for some default setting you may have changed. Are your searching only through one forum type or posts specific to a single author without realizing you changed it? The search works well for me. About the only thing I haven't been able to search for is a phrase. Using quotes doesn't seem to matter. it takes each word in the phrase and returns hits that have either or both but not limited as a phrase.

Hey Buddy!

Try it again and take note of the section where you can highlight which of the various forums to search. I suspect that no forum is selected and that's why you are not getting any useful return information. I also believe that one of the choices as to which forum is all forums.

Thanks Hesh,
Just tried it again and instead of selecting Guitar Building, this time I chose Luthier Forums Rooms. That worked for me, thanks again!
