Nice one Derek, looks like tortoiseshell bindings?
What wood is the neck? Looks figured (I'm assuming its not pawprints!)

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Clean, elegant, understated...with just the right amount sparkle in that rosette. I think it's quite beautiful.

Nice clean looking guitar. How does that wood combo sound?

Nice looker!

How big is the sound hole? Your logo looks a little pixilated. Maybe use a higher resolution camera?

Yeah, I like it! Unusual materials and a very imaginative aesthetic. Good job!

I'll bet moving the bridge back a bit gives you a bigger sound than a 14 fret.Ive always liked 12 frets for this reason but a little short.13 sounds like a good compromise

Thanks for the kind comments!
This was had been lying around for a while needing re-topped. Unfortunately when routing off the bindings the router bit somehow slipped and I took more off at the neck block. This resulted in a slope from soundhole to neck, allowing me to make a sort of cantilevered neck! Which has come out well with a nice low action as a consequence:

Neck is an old brazilian hog shelf which has some figure

Bindings are rosewood. I am very pleased with the sound and will definitely use the wood combination again.
Apologies for the poor pictures. Will also try to add a video at some point.
