I think I showed some process pics of this a while back, just got good photos taken before she ships out. Hope y'all like it
It's a 25 to 26" fan fret, maple/Sitka with brazilian RW accents

Love the overall look of this guitar, and the bevel on the back! Terrific!

Such nice execution. It look as if you're revealing the Brazilian that is under the maple, as opposed to brazilian pieces on top of maple. Love love love it.

What a concept! Okay...it might not be to everyone's taste, but the execution appears flawless to me. I think this thread will grow with many luthiers checking in to tell you how much they admire both the originality of this design and your rendering of the concept. Mighty darned well done is what I say.

Looks awesome, I really like the originality. My only concern if I owned it is the point on the headstock breaking off due to mishap.

Thanks for sharing!

Glenn

WoW... I am puzzled.... laughing6-hehe

Love the looks and execution. That must have taken some time to do.

I am sure the new owner will be proud to show it off.

Great job Sam,

Cheers,

Thanks all, bob it did take a while. Each piece was cut by hand and then reassembled then inlayed. The most frustrating part was when I got the pieces mixed up or dropped on the floor. It was really like putting a puzzle together! Overall, it is not my normal style, but a fun thing to do.....once!

I don't even know where to start. This is easily, easily one of the most unique and well-executed guitars I've ever seen. Just incredible.

Nice work, very Somogyi-esque. Did you apprentice with him?

A wee touch of whimsy - love it!
Especially the double-bevel - must feel nice to hold and play....

Wow. [uncle]

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Okay, I need to go lie down for a while.
