Very nice! You've finally found a style of arm bevel that I can tolerate The progressive deepening and "hook" at the end helps differentiate it as a separate visual element, so the soundboard itself still looks symmetrical, just with something layered over it. And the smooth transition at the upper end keeps it from looking like a "function over form" bite taken out of the soundboard, like bevels that have the hook at both ends.

What style of bracing did you use? Looks like a good time to go asymmetrical, since you already have some restriction of the active area by the bevel. Maybe a diagonal harmonic bar, but angled the opposite way from normal? So the bass side is tightened and treble side is looser. Doesn't have quite the intuitive elegance of loose bass/tight treble, but should net you the same result of reduced cross dipole phase cancelling.

Great use of natural wood grain on the headplate too.

I don't believe in a bass side/treble side but it may offer some asymmetry to the dipole.

Stunning!! Would love to see a picture of the bridge too. Very beautifully done!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

I want to add a big +1 to everything already said! In particular, I think your arm rest bevel is a visually gorgeous design. I have always seen the practicality of these bevels, but never liked the way any of them looked. To my eye, your version is perfect.

That's the goods! Let's see, a sound port, arm bevel, and bolt-on neck on a classical. You may need a nurse in your shop to do CPR on any traditionalists that wander in.
