I purchased the Robert O'Brien LMII acoustic kit. The plans say "Martin Orchestra Model AGP-14". Hope this isn't a redundant question but what does the AGP stand for? Can't find any info on it.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

I am assuming it is some kind of numerical order of the plan maker.

Thomas, in case you don't already know, and in case you're new to guitar building, the bracing that is called for on the top in that plan is quite a bit too heavy.
I was lucky enough to have a great builder look over that plan before I started building and he really saved me. He scribbled the smaller dimensions on the plan and I've never looked back!

Thanks, Phil. I noticed in the tutorial that quit a bit is shaved off the top bracing.

My first two OM builds were from Scott Antes plans. They both turned out great.
