I think that might be going on my Christmas list. You know, the one that you have to buy for yourself!
I wish LV had a reward system like Cnd. Tire used to have - 3% back on purchases. I spend a pile there every year.

This is loosely based on my circle cutter design ... one of my students is a director at LV, and she sent one of my cutters to their design group ... very cool.

I've been using the MPower CRB7 for almost 2 years now for various routing tasks including circle cutting. I love it, and the micro adjuster on it is wonderful for cutting rosettes etc... You can buy it from all kinds of retailers. Rockler has it online for $79, which is $30 cheaper than Lee Valley's price. Probably cheaper shipping from Rockler as well.

Not that it is really relevant, but the tool was designed and manufactured in the UK, as are all MPower tools.

In the UK they are sold under the "Trend" brand name.

You are correct. Trend markets their products in the US under the MPower name. This router base really is a very cool design that offers quite a variety of very useful routing applications in the workshop. It's actually a steal at $79 currently on Rockler's website. Some other websites have raised their price to $159 recently. Hurry up and get yourself one at Rockler before they raise their price to match their competitors.

Nice base. It certainly seems worth the money to do all that. Is it only for full size routers? I still prefer a laminate trimmer for most jobs.

A smaller router would need to have been machined to accept 5/16" guide rods at 3 1/16" centers in order to fit the CRB base.
