Have you ever inserted a thin piece of contrasting wood into a stacked heel? I think I have seen this before and it looked pretty nice. When the neck is carved the thin contrasting piece goes from thin to wider at the sloped end of the heel. This could be done in combination with a neck that is laminated in the center portion between the headstock and the stacked heel. I'd like to see some examples. I'm pretty sure I have seen someone on the OLF do this. Any thoughts, comments, and/or photos?
Thanks,
Steve
