I've been finishing up a soprano ukulele and decided to instal the tuner even though I was feeling sick. Upon installing the tuners, I realized that I had completely misaligned the tuners on the left side of the peg head. Is there anything I can do to correct this problem? I thought of possibly filling the holes in the back, with some more maple, touching that up and replacing the peg head veneer. Any better solutions?

That sounds doable to me except use dowel to fill the holes.

I carefully measured for a tuner on the top of the head but found that it drilled better from the bottom of the head when I used the drill-press. Laid it out using the same measurements and drilled it on the other side of the head. I now have a ukulele with three tuners on one side of the head and one tuner on the other side. It looks artistic.

Or...leave the tuners and cut the head on the left side in an artistically, asymmetrical shape. Clinton

I did the same thing on this little L-1. I didn't fix it thinking I would see how obvious it was - I am not going to fix it.

as stated above. plug, re-drill, new veneer. or use the jedi mind trick. "those aren't the tuners you see off-center..."

Maybe you could reshape the headstock to make it look more symmetrical or asymmetrical/intentional.

Can you move one side in a couple of mils and the other side out a couple of mils, after plugging both sides?

I'd say your best option has already been mentioned, but if you want something quicker and have the correct sized plug cutter, you could stick a dowel in the hole, then cap it with a piece of rosewood you cut using your plug cutter. Although, a new veneer is basically just as much work anyway.
