I'm considering using lacewood as a finger board.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Any photos?
Anyone think good or bad idea?

I like to match bridge with the fingerboard. I'm think lacewood might not be good as a bridge. What you all think?

Kind of depends on what your supplier is selling as Lacewood. South American lacewood is too soft. Leopardwood will work just fine. Australian lacewood (northern silky oak and southern silky oak) are still a bit soft for a fingerboard.

Yeah, sorry, I forgot lacewood is not a species of tree. The wood I had in mind is London Plane. Actually, I've already gone off the idea. So a bit of a non-starter thread.

I've built with lacewood for many years and love it , but in my experience it would be a bit soft for a fretboard.

I built one guitar with what I was told was Australian lacewood and as far as I can remember it was very brittle and splintery and took forever to fill the pores. Absolutely stunning under a finish though.
