Are there any real difference between Taiwanese made, Chinese made, or expensive tuners like those 500 dollars/set tuners? I'm looking for cheap tuners and I usually use those gotoh sealed machines that costs around 30 dollars a set but was wondering if the cheaper Chinese ones are similar in quality?

So basically the lower tier is so bad that it falls apart? If it's 35 dollars I might as well go with Gotoh, at least I know they are good enough. I've seen cheaper Taiwanese tuners but I do not know if they are the worse one.

It's the consistency that is of value. Gotoh is very consistent. I have used some cheaper chinese ones (definitely would not put them on my guitars) that worked okay, although a little rough, and then downhill from there.
