I don't think I have posted any new work here in a long time, here are som pictures of my latest guitar.

Steel string acoustic, sinker redwood top, ziricote b/s, mahogany neck, macassar ebony FB and bridge, mostly ziricote appointments with maple and pearwood purflings, nitro finish. A few firsts for me with this one: New body shape, as you can see it is a type of curvy 'Gibsonish' small jumbo, similar to several other such ones on the market, my first sinker redwood top, with a new (for me) rosette style inspired by Jason Kostal and others (thanks Rod ;-)).

For various reasons, this one took a long time to build, and many other instruments were built while this one was in the works, but in the end I really like the way it turned out. I need to get me some more of that redwood...

What a great combination of woods. All the lines appear flawless and all the mated surfaces clean and crisp. Couldn't find a thing not to like about this one. Outstanding!

Spectacular!
Your attention to detail is inspiring. Love the new rosette...
I see an endpin jack - what did you use for a pickup?

Arnt, This one is gorgeous, your guitars just keep getting better and better. Glad to see you're still out there plugging away.

A true touch of class Arnt.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Thanks everybody, you are very kind! Posting pretty pictures of shiny guitars here is a little like 'preaching to the choir' of course, but OTOH its always nice to get pats on the back from one's peers. ;) Anyways, I've been doing more and more 'traditional' guitars over the last few years, so its fun to make something that looks a little bit more 'contemporary' once in a while.

It has a K&K mini pickup

<edit> Hey, it seems I've become a 'contributing member', what's up with that?!
