After watching Chris Paulick's video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve_PmQMSnQQ I've decided to try and make a binding machine in this style. LMI don't seem to sell the plans anymore, so does anyone know where I could find them?
I could probably work something out from watching the video, but would prefer to buy the plans if possible so if anyone knows where they, or something similar could be found I'd love to know.
Thanks,
Will

Chris's videos are so good that you don't need plans. I copied this design after watching the videos several times (skipping the prolonged shot of the jeans). It's really very simple- a router base that goes up and down on drawer runners. as Chris says in the video the hard part is the ring that rests on the guitar top. But once you've made it you can fine tune after you have the experience to understand how it works.

Didn't somebody on this board show a way to make that ring out of a wooden drawer-knob? I think that it was McKenna.

You're right. Chris's videos are excellent. I watched it a few more times and am now fairly confident I can make it without plans. Thanks for the input.

I was wondering how I would go about making that, actually. I can see how a wooden drawer-knob could work. Great idea. thanks

Just finished making a binding machine from Chris Paulick's video. It seems to work very well. Thanks for the video Chris! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ve_PmQMSnQQ&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DVe_PmQMSnQQ
$60 for hardware.
$20 for variable speed router bought off Kijiji
The rest was found in the shop and house including an old fanny pack to carry the counter weight (I wasn't going to be caught dead wearing that thing these days any way).

Nice job. Looks very similar to one I made about 4 years ago. They work well, I think.
