Hey all

I have a guitar that is a couple years old that was finished by someone else in Cure-uv.

I need to do a touch up of the finish.

Anyone have an idea of what might be compatible or where I could find out?

CA works well for touch up on uv stuff. Niue large of an area we talking about? There are other options depending on what you need to touch up. There is also a repair system i have seen with a small uv wand that allows you to full with more polyester. But that is still not seamless as the coating is closed and will not amalgamate.

I'm trying to touch up and are about 1/8" x 3" that butts up to the Cure uv. Obviously want it as seemless as possible.

Sunlight will cure UV finish, you might want to touch it up with the same stuff. Cure speed will depend on the catalyst, though- I have a couple different UV catalysts and the fastest one is a couple orders of magnitude faster than the slowest.

Sounds like a CA repair to me. Get it as clean as you can with some acetone, dirt in the cracks and crannies will really show up. Spray with activator and allow that to evap back off, an hour or so. This will promote a seamless repair, at least as best as can be on non almalgable coatings. Medium Ca, figure on 3 -4 drop fills to level it out. the activator only needs done once. 45 minutes or do is usually good between drops of CA. Then level and buff. As someone once told me way back when they were showing me this type of stuff, once a repair always a repair, you can't undo it, just make it look better. And lots of times, especially with UV cure and other closed poly finishes that is the case. Good luck.
