Our 10th year anniversary will be on 8-19-2013.

Here is the very first page posted back in 2003. Some of you OLD TIMERS will remember
the first version. (Lets talk guitar) OLF 1.0

BobC, Matt Gage and John Osthoff were among the first to join and post.

Thanks Lance,
This IS the best guitar building forum site.
Thanks for not putting adverstisments in the threads like the other sites do.

It seems like yesterday that I saw our number grow to 300 back in `05.
Now we`re over 7000.

Actually, another saying comes to mind...

Being there from day one or close to it, it sure has changed. Remember the times of an online inlay class, and chat nights? What there were maybe 20 or less of us daily here? We had so few we had a page that was a brief bio and pic of the member.

More pro's were around and some good times. But cool to see how it has grown over the years. I just didn't think it was 10 years now.

Yes, Stan, I remember those days, it really was a small group of guys hanging round the pub chatting. I remember posting my biography, I know there was less than a hundred of us here and that Mattia and I were the first non-North Americans. Bruce Dickey seemed to be the 'official greeter' and made about a quarter of the posts. Good days.

Happy birthday to the best luthier forum on the planet!

I still have a big stash of Indian rosewood from the group buy that Bruce Dickey put together. What an adventure! A bunch of us got together and imported the wood directly from a supplier in India. (You know who you are.)

I've been away from the building scene for a while now, but there's a new shop going up in my backyard so that will change this summer.

Stan, Rod, Colin,

It's good to see such oldtimers still here. Seems like it had changed a lot by the time I joined in '05 with my old nom d' OLF. It was still mostly seasoned builders with a few of us newbies. And the old software - Lance what was it called?

Pat

Pat the first version back in 2003 was called "lets talk guitars"
Then Bruce Dicky came up with luthiers forum. Then at some
Point started calling it olf.

I hopped on sometime in the first year or so. Somehow it says 2007 for me but I think I re- registered then. I remember we all had our pictures and bios on a page. I don't think there were more than 20 or 30.

Congrats Lance on keeping the best forum going. I think it's as good as it's ever been right now. I log on every day.

Hey, whatever happened to Dickey?

Would the swap meet be a meet-and-greet kind of thing or forum based?
