Local woodworker gave me this piece of Honduran Mahogany. One of his customers father made mahogany speedboats in the 1950's and this is out of his stash bliss
Does anyone have resaw capability for 16" wood? And wood:) you be willing to do the job? I can get two nice one piece backs out of one piece.

I think I can but I need to double check. Never done anything that wide.

I'm out of town & can't check until next week.

I'll let you know if no one else steps up.

FWIW, Mahogany is one of the easier woods to resaw as compared to many of the rosewoods.

I would check with your local mill shop. Check and see if they have a horizontal bandsaw mill with a conveyor belt type feed. That type of saw has great results!

Thanks for the replays, I can get one piece backs all day long from Hibdon. I'll resaw this and call Hibdon when I want to do a J-45.
