I'm still trying to absorb the details in this GAL Torres plan. In the list of materials, it is noted that the top and sides are "supported" by parchment and musical manuscript paper. Can someone enlighten me on this?

According to Jeffrey Elliott, who restored SE114 and thoroughly documented his work in American Lutherie #83, the parchment and music-paper was glued in with hide glue to reinforce various areas inside the body.

This is very common in old Spanish guitars.
Here is an 1892 Torres that has Music manuscript paper reinforcing the back joints:
