I'm inlaying my first carbon fiber bar in a neck and since I did the slot with a router plane, the fit is a bit loose. I don't have to fight to stick the rod in, and there are some slight gaps here and there. Slight, don't imagine it is dangling in there :) I will use epoxy and imagine it will be fine, but curious about others have to say about this.

Thanks.

It will be fine. Once the fretboard is on there is no way the bar will move.

Epoxy likes a few thousandths gap, you'll be fine.

What a coincidence. I bought a Veritas plow plane from Chris Beebe here over a year ago, but all my guitars since then have been solid wood necks so I hadn't had a chance to use it until now. Just last night I planed a slot in a scrap to test the fit for carbon fiber bars, got the same result of a couple thousandths of gap, and was wondering if it would be ok. Glad to hear it is :)
