Guys,

At the 11th hour I had a customer change his mind and decide on an Englemann Spruce top over the Master Grade Redwood top I had put aside for him.

I'm in need of something of very high quality and my usual go-to-guy - Zootman is only listing 2A and lower grades.

Suggestions for sources would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Paul - you could try http://www.fine-woods.com/index.html. If you don't see anything suitable, you could try calling to see if they have tops that would be more to your liking. Good luck!

Alex

I recently got some VERY nice bearclaw Engelmann from Bev Finch at Blue Silk. Looks like LaurieW got some similar from LMI. You can read about it and see photos here:

+1 I believe Graham supplies LMI some or all of their Engelmann. Good stuff.

Perhaps one of us could supply you with an older top, and very air tight packaged. You don't want to use some green or too wet set....

On Larry Stamm, I heard from a luthier he had some exceptional tops and I sent him an email about it, didn't even bother to reply.
