Where is a good source for springs, for a fox style bender?

Any good independant hardware store should have a nice selection of springs, more than the usually limited sizes at the big stores. Up here in Bossier City, I get them at Tubbs Hardware.

I would recommend your local hardware or big box store also. Followed the plans I had initially and the tension on the springs suggested was over-kill and so was the price. My plans used four on the upper bout and four on the lower. I think two is sufficient.

I bought a set of plans from this business, and I noticed they sell all the hardware for fox benders as well. Might want to check them out.

I am in the same boat. I am having one heck of a time finding the springs. I'm in a decent sized city in Canada but, for the life of me, I can't find these things. The big box stores have a horrible selection, there are very few little independent hardware stores around, the auto parts guys aren't carrying them, I'm at a complete loss. People must use springs for stuff, right? Where are they getting them?

John, I'll be sending an email your way to see if what you have may be what need.

FWIW bungee cord works just fine. Pretty easy to find.

I haven't built my Fox bender yet, but I tucked away a few springs from an old trampoline.

The key is to get the correct springs. Often people use a spring way heavy for the job or too light. It needs to mate to the job at hand
