I have a request to build an instrument like the Yamaha AC1R.
Yamaha lists it as a 'concert size guitar'
But nowhere can I find what their definition of 'concert' is.

Can anyone please shed some light on this and what general body length, upper and lower bout and waist dimensions might be?

I figure it is a 19 1/2", 15" lower bout but I just don't know.

Thanks,

Dave

Maybe check Taylor's website for the dimensions of their "Grand Concert"?

That's a nice looking body. This post says it's about 000 size:

Oddly, Taylor's 'Grand Concert' is 15" wide...

Marketing over tradition, I suppose.

Good points -- name things like people expect. I wonder if the alternate names tend to be pitched towards the newbies.

It is a good thing that Martin does not "protect" their size designations, we'd have to describe the dimensions of our guitars.
