I was thinking of getting this case:

http://elderly.com/accessories/items/TWDHS-T.htm

But it is back ordered.

So what about this one? What is different?

http://www.elderly.com/accessories/items/KTWD-T.htm

Or do you have a better suggestion? I want gold tweed, and the shape u see in these.

Mike

Hi Mike,

I have that same case with a different name on it. I say that because they look the same to me. I'm sure you'll be fine with either one. These days I use the black Oahu cases or their generic cousins.

Mike,

I'd call Elderly and ask them. It does look like they are both the same case.

When you call them (or email) also check on the dimensions for the case. I bought a case for my tenor (not the one you are looking at) and even though it is a nice case, it is way bigger than the pattern I used. It does the job, but I'd be looking for a better fit if I were doing it again. My thinking is if you are going to go through the effort of getting a good looking case, try and get it to fit.

Calling Elderly would kill two birds with one stone on this one.

I'll call tomorrow. But the first one looks a bit better, more like what I'm looking for. It also looks a bit deeper.

Hi Mike,
I had a friend buy the first one and ship it to me when I was building his uke. Overall it looks pretty good and does the job (protection). Two comments though; first, fit. I had the opposite problem in that I built a slightly deeper uke, and had to open the lining (which is glued in pretty heavily), cut out some of the hard foam, and repair the lining, to make it fit.
Also, there were a couple of places on the waist bend where the tweed cover was wrinkled as it was sewn into the plastic, leather-look, binding. I sent pics to my guy and he was okay with keeping it, but I thought for the price that the wrinkles shouldn't be there.
