I bought this binding a while back... I may have gotten it from someone on the OLF. But can't remember what it is and I don't recognized it...

Can oneone identify this binding?

Looks like bocote to me; could be zebrawood. I would bet against Honduran rosewood. Definitely not Pau Ferro as you can see some large pores.

Not Zebra wood, unless the color rendering is way off. Doesn't look dark enough to be Bocote. Looks like a rosewood of some type to me. Does it have any odor when scrapes or sanded?

Looks sort of like Bubinga but grain is tighter.

Does it smell like anything? Bubinga & Zebrano stink.

It looks a lot like some Amazon rosewood I bought recently. It would appear to be a rosewood of some kind. Nice stuff !!!

Okay - the winner is Honduran Rosewood.

Matt PMed me and reminded me that I had bought the binding from him. He helped me out by selling me a set of black limba sides after I broke one during bending. I bought the binding from him at the same time.
