Anyone her own the JET 708433 JDS-12B 1-Horsepower 12-Inch Benchtop Disc Sander? I own a few other Jet tools and have been totally satisfied with them. I have been looking at this for a while. So is it worth the price?..Mike

I have an older model of this one from Grizzly

Aside from the switch going bad after a few months it has been a good piece of equipment.

I have the version of the Jet 12" disc sander which includes a stand and pleated filter. It is a lot of sander in a small package. My goal originally was a 21" Powermatic disc sander but this works well for my needs.

I have the Jet 12" and find it absolutely essential for the work I do. I don't have a tablesaw and the disc sander has been an invaluable addition to my work as it is easy to square up headblocks, tailblocks, fretboards, etc... Also, the control of the sander is very easy. In short, it is an incredibly useful tool. I personally wish I had gone with a bigger sander but the 12" is adequate for most things. Like all these foreign made machines, you might have to replace a few parts to optimize the machine. Grizzly is notorious for this as is JET. I had to go through 3 sanding heads before I got one with absolutely no run-out and that was very flat. Jet customer service is always helpful tho'.
