I have decided to build one of these as a nylon string 12 fret
Dimensionally it is slightly smaller than a Hauser
14"lower bout 18" long 4"deep and the steel strings all have a main air frequency of about 120 Hz

I notice most classicals have a soundhole around 3"3/8
and SS around 3"3/4. Im wondering which might be the better choice and why?

My guitars have a 14" lower bout, and are about just over 18" long, 3.75 at the tail, and about 3.25 at the heel. Sound hole is 87.5 mm or about 3.45 ". Seems to work pretty well.

Along these lines, is there such a thing as a calculable "optimal" soundhole size for the box volume???? ....ie for a guitar of internal volume "X", the highest effeciency soundhole area is"Y". Always seemed to me there should be a formula for this, rather than the ol'...."1934 Martin such & such had a 3 57/64" soundhole..."
Just askin'

That sure would be nice!
Ive been reading a bit and it seems like the classical guys generally like a helmholtz/MA
around F#/G area so Im going with a smaller hole to try and lower my usual 120 HZ A#
