I found this interesting assembly video on youtube, and thought I'd share it. Theres heaps of them around but this one grabbed me. Its interesting to see how other people work. The full sized version is huge at 306 mb fyi.

What a great video, someone has spent masses of time editing it to that standard, thank you posting it I will definitely be watching it again.
I love the way the rhythm of the photography sits so well with the music - only wish I could make a guitar as quick!

Very cool. I found it interesting that he used a mixture of LMI White and hot hide glue. Also why poor out all that glue on wax paper? Is that a way to store it for later?

I really like that clamping method he uses for the back too.

I wondered that too and hoped the video wold come back to show it. I suppose after it gels you could cut it into strips which would melt faster the next time? I also use a jar inside the water bath and have often wished I had poured it out when I was done because it takes so long to heat up again.

I really like the simplicity of the tools being used; razor knife, chisels, PENCIL!! I also think it's worth noting the extensive use of the magnifiers he's wearing most of the time; it's amazing what you can see with them...

Thanks for posting the video link. Very interesting. I checked Les's website and caught some pretty good flamenco playing. His flamencos seem to have an extremely metallic sound. A bit much for for solo work (IMO), but it would work well for accompanying.

Awesome video, but remind me to never do tentellones, yeesh. Or at least to profile the triangle section before cutting them off! I'm not that patient...

Thanks for sharing the link. I quite enjoyed the video. Using the router to create the step in the heel is an interesting approach to the problem.

I like it very much ! But why use hand made kerfing on the top and store bought on the back ?

I think that was so that he could use hide glue on the tellatones and LMI white glue on the kerfed linings.
