Ten individuals were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be a part of John Ressler's guitar-making class held at Lee Valley last week. It was a great learning opportunity and we all walked away with absolutely wonderful-sounding (and looking) guitars (albeit unfinished at this point). John was a wonderful instructor (patient, I might add) and we all had a fun time (except when sanding).

I thought I'd share a couple of photos.

Not just because he posted this, but Charlton's was really sweet sounding. Ara would take 2nd! There were no disappointments on any of them. They all sounded good and looked great. This was a great class and everyone worked hard to make it happen

Tony - thanks for the glue and for stopping in at the class. And thanks for letting me visit your shop Sun evening. I always learn a lot when I visit another builder and you sure have some gorgeous looking guitars! The butterfly inlay was perfect!

Joe - I was the slow one in the class - give me a break!

The butterfly actually turned out awesome (in not so modest terms). Thanks for your input on this (sent you an email separately---not sure if you got it or not)...I certainly wouldn't have thought about gluing the pieces together and the chatoyance on my piece of MOP fits the butterfly perfectly.

I can't say who's sounded the best but I'll be honest...mine sounds pretty darn good. I actually think it sounds better than my Larrivee. :-o

John was too busy kicking our hinds to meet the schedule. :) Unlike my day job, this is one time when I actually enjoyed because under the schedule gun.
