Between health, work, weather, and buying a new vacation/retirement house I haven’t been in my garage in quite a while. I went in there today and let out a big “argh” when I saw my workbench. Evidently something occurred and I had a whole gallon of Zinsser sanding sealer across the workbench, into a drawer of small tools, down the front and over the floor. It is now just one big dried glop. So for now I’ll have a beverage and think about it. Oh well, on the plus side it did miss my drawer that has plans in it.

I'd focus on the new vacation/retirement house and not really care too much else;)

Sounds like the work of a stealth cat , or a racoon . Maybe its time to plan a NEW workbench

Those little critters always seem to find a way to breach any container meant to contain any form of sticky, filthy, goop, and somehow manage to get away before you can find `em.
Never seen `em, but I know where they`ve been.
Next thing you know, you have a mess of "pookie" to deal with.
Looks to me that a Louiseville Slugger, a BUNCH of Everclear, and a few implements of destruction are in order... DAMHIKT

It's happened to me, too. Mine was on the floor, but it made a mess, and I still can't move the plastic storage bin that was sitting next to it. Probably need to buy a gal of denatured alky. Don't want to use my Grain Alky to get it loose. Must be a problem. I had it happen with a quart can too.

I feel your pain, I've had this happen twice with cans of Zinsser, what a mess!

There is a 5 gallon can of some type of sealer that was in my garage when I bought the house. One day I noticed that it started leaking overnight ran as far as the door seal and the puddle started to cure. I'm not even sure what it is but it smelled like pine tar. I was busy and didn't clean it up, then I forgot about it. I'm sure I will never get that can or the other junk that was next to it out of the garage again.

Ah, spill stories.

I had one of the little 2 oz bottles we use for CA disintegrate while sitting on top of my go bar deck, sitting next to my bottle of fish glue (the Lee Valley one). The puddle of CA ran under the fish glue bottle and ate the bottom out of that as well. Next day, while I was surveying the damage, I lifted up the top of the fish glue bottle (expecting it to be attached to the bottom.) Imagine that split second of horror, witnessing the now-unbounded column of fish glue, hanging in air before it slumps and runs off all four sides of the go-bar deck's top, onto the bench, etc.

At least I got to work on cleaning it up while it was still wet. The bottom of the bottle is still glued to the top of the deck.

I've had several bottles of CA split and leak. Now all the CA lives in a glass cake pan - just in case.

Hazmat spill scenes are chaos at the very least. Don't forget to call you National Response Center and report the incident.

also, you should submit a Hazardous Materials Incident Report on DOT Form F 5800.1 using vintage amber color crayon within 30 days of discovery of the incident. Give a year or two.

And don't forget to download and read the two complete regulations (171.15, 171.16) that will help guide you thru the incident.

These must be cousins of the infamous "fishing tackle gremlins" - during off-season, they create furball fishing line tangles that wrap around and under fishing reels. I'm convinced they're under contract by the fishing line manufacturers - there's no option but cut and throw away.

It is all a conspiracy! where I used to live, the tire stores all got together and hired a company to sprinkle screws and nails up and down my back alley. I think they were on a semi monthly schedule. They probably hit the other blocks during the off time.
