I have heard rave reviews for this lacquer. I would like to give it a try but the price at LMI of $70 per gallon plus tax, and shipping or pick up in my case puts it close to $100 per gallon. That is too steep for my blood. Does anyone know where else this stuff can be purchased. I'd buy a 5 gallon if the price was right.

Michael, contact Mac Schurmeier at macs@cardinalpaint.com . You can buy it direct. They are in California, not sure if you live close enough to pick up and save hazmat upcharge.

Instead of Cardinal Lacquer you could try Cardinal Lager:
