Greetings everyone! I was searching Ebay today and saw a 48"x96"x1" sheet of nomex for sale. It is really inexpensive, but it would need to be resawn. Is this possible/difficult? If so, is anyone interested in buying some REALLY cheap nomex? This is way more than I could possibly use in 2 lifetimes!!

Thanks

You can cut it with scissors, so you just need a way to hold it steady....

Cheers,

Cut it into smaller sizes for better handleability, then glue that to a backing board to stabilize the core and resaw it on the band saw. youre blade won't last too long and the cut will be very stringy/fuzzy.

Oh, you didn't mention the cell size or density of the sheet you're looking at. 1/8" cell size and 2-3 pcf is what's typically used for double tops.

Love the idea but after working with Nomex a little I am just note sure resawing would be possible. Keep us posted if you decided to give it a shot. If it works you have hit a gold mine! ;)
