Hey guys,

I've started building a parlor guitar for my daughter's 16th birthday. I want this guitar to be special. I came up with a design based off the LMI parlor plan, a L-00 bracing pattern, and some unique woods. It will be a slot head, 12fret, and almost 13 1/2 at the lower bout. The woods are sinker redwood top and claro walnut back and sides with bloodwood binding and herringbone rosette and backstrip. Anyway, to give her an idea of what it takes to build this, I've started a blog. It's kinda alot to take on. I'm a teacher by day, and also have both a 10 month old daughter and 3 year old daughter, so I stay busy. Usually I don't even get to begin work till about 9:30 at night. :)

Just hoping for some feedback from you guys, if you ever have some spare time please check it out. Thanks. Here's the link:

Hey Coach!
Good luck with your build. I started building when my first son was 2 and a half with no shop. I build in my living room. I have spread to my garage now, but it isnt heated so I cant do much out there in the winter. I usually start building at 9:00 as well and finish anywhere between midnight and 1:00AM and then I get up for work at 6:30AM so it can be done. But based on your blog, you already knew that!
Nice guitars by the way. I want to build with redwood soon. I need to finish up my current three projects first though!
Keep the updates coming to the blog!

Tony
