I am doing radial cocobolo purfling on a parlor currently. In the past, I have used mahogany and zebrawood for radial purfling. In those instances, I laminate all the purfling including the radial stuff and bend it. I have found that I cannot do this with the cocobolo as it wants to be brake too easily. So, I am going to be using the more traditional pearl method of gluing in a strip, pulling it out after the glue dries and breaking in the cocobolo. My question is how do I do this (especially in the waste) without it looking like a bunch of small blocks all butted up against one another. I want it to look curvy and flowing. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Anything up to 1/16" should be fine. I flood the channel with thin CA after the wood is snapped in, and the glue picks up enough color from the coco to handle any minor gaps.

Do you mean 1/16" long snapped pieces?

I think Todd means 1/16" wide purfling.
