I know absolutely nothing about upright basses, and almost as little about pickups.

I did a search and found...

http://www.fishman.com/product/bp-100-c ... ass-pickup

http://www.fishman.com/product/full-cir ... ass-pickup

http://www.uptonbass.com/Double-Bass-Pi ... LO-II-RS2/

http://www.realistacoustic.com/realist_ ... ?type=bass

There are some comparisons on youtube for what those are worth....

Hi heery, for the kind of bridge you'll be making any good under saddle piezo will do. Early on I used a fishman under saddle routed and epoxyed into a bridge. It worked well but bridges wear out , that means a new piezo. Not a good long term proposition for me. For just one bass I'd get a K&K "pure preamp", it clips on your belt. I use one with a K&K bridge piezo on my double bass.

The pickups Jim searched are all for double basses , very tall bridges.
