I am looking for an inexpensive pickup for acoustics that I can offer as a standard equipment. I notice most of the fishmen and LR Baggs are around 200 dollars and I thought I'd let a customer decide to have those installed if they were to give me a commission.

What does everyone think of the Schatten Soundboard transducer vs the GHS microphone?

After trying out various pickups (havent trued the Schatten or GHS), I am sold on K&K Sound products. The Pure Mini gives the best acoustic sound I have heard from a piezo pickup, for about $100. For an absolutely clean acoustic sound, get the Trinity Mini system, which is the piezos and internal mic blended, through a dual channel DI. Excellent products, great tech support. Made in USA, in Oregon. http://www.kksound.com/acousticguitar.html

+1 on the K&K pure western mini. It's cost effective and works very well.

Yup!

It's still a bit out of my price range though but I can offer that as an option if I get a commission. I just want to know if the Schatten soundboard pickup is any good as it seems like a good option for small instruments like ukelele...

The sell an entry level passive piezo pickup which retails for $78 and you can probably find it at stores for $60 or so. http://www.kksound.com/twinspotinternal.html
