I finally made some time and got out to the guitar show in Woodstock, NY today. I was able to meet face-to face some guys from here for the first time, including JJ Donohue and Laurent Brondell. I also got to see Bob Cefalu and his sons, John Hall, John Osthoff and a host of other guys.
The big buzz was about JJ's "Aurelia" 12-fret Slope-D which was killer good. People were raving about it,and the folks from Acoustic Guitar Magazine took pictures of it specifically because of all the buzz. He even had the famous John Sebastian (of The Lovin' Spoonful) playing it and Lovin' it. I was pretty blown away by the guitar as well. JJ really nailed that one, big-time.

Way to go JJ. I'd sure like to see some pictures of the event Don if you have any.

Thanks,
Hutch

David....You must not have recognized me, but we had a conversation! Talked about the curly ebony fretboard and stuff...

BTW...David makes a killer Baritone. Wow, that was great. And he had one guitar with the darkest set of EIR I've ever seen. Those instruments were to the T perfect.

Yes Mike, Saturday was intense, Sunday a bit less but plenty of traffic.
Lots of folks from NYC, L.I and New Jersey.

You were missed!

Yeah Mike, it was a nice crowd on Saturday. It was tough trying to navigate through the tables in the main hall, with so may people there. It's really too bad they don't have more space in that place. The venue itself is really great, but a little small. Oddly enough, it was easier to hear instruments in the vendor section where JJ was.

David, it was good chatting with you!

I thought it was a great show, I was very busy. This was the third year for me and it is my favorite show. Of course it is relatively local to me. It was great meeting those that I did, although I keep missing some the forum here. Mike, I really missed you this year, but it is great that you are busy.

Hi Randy,
Even though our tables were close by each other I didn't get a chance to stop and say Hi, there being such a crowd of folks to talk with.
Glad the show was good for you!

No problem David. I didn't get around as much as I would have liked to. It's great that we were all busy. Good show!

I wanted to see some of my old buddies but was tied to the table most of the time. Sorry I didn't get to see as many as I wanted . It was a great show . JJ was next to me and he was having the time of his life. His guitars looked great and sounded good to go with it .
I saw Laurent but only for a short time . Buddies at the EVG stand had a great little couch guitar. John O , David Laplante and a few others . Thanks for stopping by the table and hope to see you all next year.

Great show. Here's a link to some pictures taken with my phone. Some are pretty blurry.
