For someone who has the time and as curious as me....(Tommy Emanual/Frank Vignola performance on Woodsong) you can download show at: http://www.woodsongs.com/showlist.asp (show #562). The show has TE playing what is described as a small Gibson....but not with a Gibson logo headstock.???? There is a small discussion about the guitar midway thru the video but am curious if someone knows what model this might actually be. Definitely looks smaller than a OO and was built in the 30's. It has that smaller guitar sound....but TE makes her sound ridiculously fine....as he does with any guitar.

I have supported (I sponsor a group in Toronto that has peresented them across Ontario and Quebec) Tommy's Canadian tours a few times and know both Tommy and Frank personally .. the guitar is a kalamazoo, built by gibson, and is similar to a L-0, 14 fret

Tommy told me this story on how he came to own it - Tommy received it as a gift form a fan, who unfortunately was dying of cancer. The fan called up Tommy's manager and said he was too ill to go to the local show that week, but he had a gift for Tommy and could he get it delivered to the concert hall . Tommy responded by going to the fellows house for an afternoon, where they played and sang in the living room for a couple hours (how cool is that). The fellow then proceeds to give Tommy this little guitar that he had .. Tommy played it on that tour (2-3 years ago) every night, usually playing Mr Bojangles, a song they did together that afternoon. He uses the guitar quite a bit, and loves to play Django stuff on it live, especially on the tour with Frank and his trio as a closing jam. Its also on the cover of a recent AG with Tommy ...
