Ron: If you have a table or band saw I think your best bet is your local lumber dealer.

Hi Tom,
Good suggestion, but I need to use It right away. Doesn't wood from a local lumber yard need time to dry?

Thanks,
Ron

Hibdon has just started stocking sugar maple back/side sets. Bet they have plenty of scraps around big enough for bridges. You could also check with Oregon Wild Wood, as they stock some neck blanks and back/side sets of it as well.

Not sure about lumberyard wood dryness, but you could always ask about drying procedures and moisture content. If they don't know anything... probably not a good sign.

Hi Dennis.
I'll give Oregon Wild Wood and Hibdon a call tommorrw.

Thanks,

Is big leaf maple too soft for a bridge?

Thanks,
Ron

I ordered a few Sugar Maple bridge blanks this morning from Hibdon.
Thanks Dennis and Tom.
