First off, beautiful inlays! That glowing moon is sick!
Secondly, how do you get the moon to glow? Is it phosphorescent material? LED under the inlay? Magic powder? Pixie dust? I NEED to know!!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Looks like wafer thin MOP with some glow-in-the-dark plastic behind it. Whatever it is, very cool effect.

Don, you are correct. .003 MOP veneer over some moonglow material.(from masecraft supply) Looks like shell in day light, glows through @ night.

Steve, yes, engraved features...The client asked for a wolf head shot on the fretboard alone, with the moon on the headstock with clouds. After many in process photos, he agreed to let me "run' with it a bit... Classic images, but I'm happy with it..

Aww, now, that's just clever. Never play in the dark again.
Why not do that on fretboard inlays? A bit trickier with the radius, but hey--you've got all of .003" to play with, right?
