I've been hard and heavy into my second build and making good progress. Didn't take a lot of pictures prior to today (getting ready to close the box), but I thought I'd share what I've done so far.

I'm excited to see how this will turn out.

Top: AAA Sitka from LMI
Back and Sides: Curly maple from Shane
Bindings: Bloodwood with y/g/y/rust/black purfling
Neck: Sapele

Hope you like it, I do. Using my little bench inside my office allows me to work during downtimes and I have no excuse to "not go out in the garage".

Steve

Looking good. Did you use plans for the bracing pattern or did you modify something you saw? I like it either way.

Tony

This is the new bracing pattern that Jack Bogdanovich uses in his new DVD series. This is his rosette pattern also.

Using this DVD series was the best investment I made (tools included) for a classical builder and player.

i really like the rosette design. congrats on the 2nd build! (i´m only on my first...)

on 1st look, the bracing scheme reminded me of Fleta, but on 2nd check it is rather different.

cheers,
Miguel.

You're too kind. Thanks.

I'm really having fun with this build, making sure to not make the SAME mistakes that I did on #1. Now I have new ones I can NOT do on #3 [headinwall] I started the end of January and am making good progress. Just closed the box and will route the binding channels this weekend.

I think after the French Polish, it will really look nice with the green/yellow/rust (and bloodwood) trimmings.

This is a modified Hauser bracing scheme. I used it on my first and (a maple/cedar) it really sounds wonderful. That guitar - sitting on the wall behind the bench - get's played a lot and sounds better than my Takamine H8SS.
