Go for it...it's perfect for that...assuming it's stable.

One other thing Wes...if you'll use the search feature here you'll find an abundance of information on it.

There's ALOT of variation in African Mahogany, assuming you're talking about Khaya instead of other species sometimes called African Mahogany. I've got a bunch of it. Some of it is relatively light, stiff, and really rings when tapped. Some of it is heavier, floppy, and taps like a wet towel. Pick your set carefully, and if you do everything else right you'll end up with a really nice guitar.
Here an Sitka/African Mahogany L00 ish guitar here.

I've been using Kyaya for necks lately (it's really light), and I like it. I've got several sets for backs and sides too, and I think it's a bit richer than Honduras (all dependent on density). It's OK by me for specific use ( we talking about tonal qualities here)...

I'm doing a set of 3 mahogany/sitka tops next; after my 1st archtop electric build. Mahogany bends really nice by hand. I think it looks awesome with finish. Golden luster.

Wes, I have sliced it up and used it for B/S. Works great. Later, Tony
