Lance just gave approval to post this request~

Andrew Gallagher is a young man who is trying to make a go at full time luthiery. His family is struggling with the passing of his father, and financial fallout from that. Andrew's desire is to help his family by building guitars, so he needs a little help to get out of the gate. He has a pretty well equipped shop as far as tools, but needs some supplies and materials to generate some income from building a couple guitars. He has great skills, and a sharp, mature mindset. I believe you'll see his instruments on the world class market in the near future. It's exciting to see someone with this kind of potential that just needs a nudge to gain momentum.

On a personal note, I must express my gratitude to all who have invested in helping Andy. THANK YOU! It's been a real privilege to be a catalyst to help him. To those who've sent something, also consider sending a note of encouragement to Andy AND HIS FAMILY sometime this year. Andy isn't alone here. Paula lost her husband; the love of her life, Andy's brothers and sister lost their Dad, and others family members lost Kevin too. I've met or talked with several extended family members, and my life is enriched for having met and befriended them. Please pray for them.

If you've offered to send something and still haven't, please PM me with an update. Thanks to everyone for helping.

Here's a couple boats that are waiting for tops. Likely, these will be for sale. He's keeping #1, these are #2 & #3. They are Koa and East Indian Rosewood

Don't have the zoot to be letting go of, but I just want to say how much I love, love, love that binding scheme/butt wedge/embellishment. That's some natural, come-by-it-honestly talent there. He's gonna do great!

Bump.

Andrew needs the things in Terry's original post above, but if anyone wants to send any tops or back/side sets that would be great too.

Merry Christmas everyone. :D

looks really nice. Can't believe it's a first build, with a cutaway and all. I am not worthy.

Unfortunately i don't have tools to send to him, i don't have more then i need for my amatorial building, but i'd be very happy to make a little donation to him so that he can buy something he needs for his work. The story of his father touched my hearth. Can i know how to do this?
Massimo.

Hey Mike, the wood was sent as were a couple of e-mails. I just sent you a PM, maybe your e-mail address has changed?

Thanks again and Happy New Year!

Nice guitars, a lot of creativity. I wish I had some of that...

I tend to stick to a simple formula when it comes to building, to ensure reliability.
