Here is another pantograph for inlay. In this example I have copied a washer. This one does not change scale but simply copies a piece of inlay or can be used to cut the inlay channel. For that you would use Friendly Plastic or another quick hard mold making material. In this unit the stylus needs to be the same size as the router bit. I got this idea from Keith Makinzies version. See a video of the one he made here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PQlDAg971c he uses drawer guides. I was going to try that but the guides I had didn't slide well enough and I kind of like the Rue Gobergyness of the wood. The picture isn't good enough to see the end of the stylus. It does have a pin in it the same size as the router bit. The washer and the inlay wood in this case are glued down.

The clamps won't stay. In this pantograph all the arm lengths are equal.

I also got to thinking an old drafting arm might work well. I see them at the flea market all the time for a few bucks.
