Lot of good specials at Woodcraft right now. Go to main page, scroll down to link to specials and clearance on left side.

I have one of the Rikon 1" belt, 5" disc sanders and it is great for working on small stuff. It is on sale for $99.00 right now, as is the 4"X36" / 6" Rikon sander. I paid much more than that for both of mine.

I've looked at the Rikon 1" sander and they appeared to be of a lesser build quality than many of their other tools. How long have you had yours Tim? I'd really like a 1" sander and I guess I haven't seen any others, including the Rikon that seem very robust. Maybe because they're smaller than most stationary tools I guess. Could be just inflated expectations. :)

Darrell,
It seems to be fine. I have had it about three months I guess. The thing will eat wood if you let it. The only thing I didn't like was the table for the disc sander was quite a distance from the disc, but I solved that by overlaying it with a piece of wood.
