Sometime, not so long ago, an experienced regular on OLF was kind (and brave) enough to stick his neck out and offered advice regarding thickness of top (stiff spruce + englemann) bracing dimensions, maybe some other things to a beginner who had asked for advice, and was not receiving specifics (as usual)
I remember it was possibly for an OM or OLF-SJ?
|No luck using search (1/2 hour). Also I thought it was maybe Todd Stock, but after an further hour + searching his posts, can't find it.
I thought I had saved the thread, but seem to have lost it.
Can anyone help me out?

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
