Hi Guys
There has been a little bad air around the place recently and I just wanted to share some positivity about the OLF - it's sponsors and members.

I recently completed a commission which is an 'OM' cutaway with Spruce B&S. (see show off pics )

I posted on this forum looking for some spruce B&S and SHANE NEIFER responded. He cut some Lutz sides for me but not only that, he added an extra set of sides in the package just in case I broke one! (This 'WOULD NOT' happen in the UK). Shane got the commission off the ground for me. Thanks Shane.

Last xmas I put in my annual order with 'The Zootman'. I went to his site and, amongst other things, picked out a cheap set of Cocobolo. When it came to packing my order, Bob emailed me to say that he couldn't find the set of Coco I had ordered. He was really apologetic. What did he do? Well he sent me a 'higher grade' set of Coco for the same price!! Thanks Bob. (Bob, I recently received a set of Ziricote from you and didn't get round to emailing to say thanks - the set is fab).

I have also received excellent service from JOHN HALL at Bluescreek and TRACEY at Luthiersuppliers.

On top of this, over the years I have had some unbelievable help and support from the members of this forum through topic postings and more especially through the 'PM's'

Laurent Brondel, Ken C, Rod True and Dave White to name but a few, have all been 'incredibly' generous in answering my PM's with their experience and expertise so that they could help me out with whatever difficulties I was in at the time.

The OLF is a great place to be and long may it continue. THANKS Y'ALL

I to have been the reciepent of several peoples help here that I wouldnt other wise have had. John Ressler , helped with side bending ! Steven Wheeler helped me find items I needed ! Hesh for some good ideas to try and of course Padme for keeping me smiling !

thanks for the kind words. I know all the people you mentioned and they are all a class act. I am proud of my connection with the OLF When it comes down to it a forum is as good as its members. I like to think we have a great batch of people here and I am proud to be a small part.
I am sure that no matter what , we still will be here to help. May you enjoy the building process . By the way , that is a nice guitar.

Indeed, we have lots of great members and sponsors. Can't forget the guys at Hibdon Hardwood, feeding my African blackwood addiction and running great monthly specials, Tim at Aussie Tonewoods (love my native olive set), Todd and company at Allied providing awesome rare woods and the best truss rods around, and the ever-convenient LMI, convincing me to spend obscene amounts of money on bundles of tiny wood strips and various other snippets that save me equally obscene amounts of time

And Filippo, that router thingie looks awesome. Being air powered, does that have a hole to blow dust away as you work? I use this Dremel-type thing http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-RTX-B-Rotary-Storage/dp/B000MUSLCC/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1289951188&sr=8-25 with the StewMac base and it works great as well, for less than $80 total. The air pump to blow dust away is well worth the $12, although I don't think it's anything more than a common fish tank bubbler, so you might have one lying around unused anyway. Only power tool I use aside from the drill press for tuner and neck bolt holes Even cuts truss rod channels. Takes a lot of passes, but not too bad. Just be sure you fully tighten the bit with the wrench it comes with so it doesn't wobble loose constantly like it did on my first one The neck I routed a few days ago went quite smoothly, done in 20 minutes or so. John's tool looks nicer for inlay though, with the lighter weight and transparent base and less vision blockage. Or maybe the weight is a good thing to keep it from jumping around so much? I'm definitely tempted to make a transparent base for mine though.

I would definitely say that my work has improved much faster since being exposed to the information and expertise available here. Thanks to everyone.

I can hardly count the ways in which this forum has elevated my original curiosity with guitar building to the passion I have now in the build process.
The transition from my first bludgeoned build from the Cumpanio/Bogdanovich books a couple of years ago to some fairly decent builds of late is 100% due to the amazing talent, generosity and willingness to share shown daily on this forum.
The sponsors I have dealt with have been superlative - I have dealt mostly with Shane and LMI and have been consistently overwhelmed by their over-the-top customer service model.
