Just bought some brazilian Ebony for $15 / Bd Ft as opposed to $98 for the real thing. It's quite dark but I wonder if anyone has tried dying it as I've heard is done even with Gabbon Ebony?

You talking brauna here? The color is pretty uniform, isn't it?

It is in fact pretty uniform in color. I've not heard of Brauna. This wood is very hard and very heavy, a dark greyish color but not real black. Thanks out there. Jim
