How many of you building pros, or semi-pros have your trademarks or logos (same thing?) registered? What are the steps you take to dow so. I imagine it has to do with the US patent office.

This is actually something you can do without an attorney, although in the end you might wish you had hired a Trademark Attorney. Go to http://www.uspto.gov and read up on the process. It can be tricky, but it can be done by any competent person.

BTW, a trademark can be a number of things, like a word, or a design/symbol or a combination thereof. Most marks are just a word or words.

Thank you both. Steve, your suggestion sounded plausible till I ran across your phrase "competent person". I might be just a couple of VOC's past that qualification. Thanks again, gentlemen.

Seriously, if you can read and write a bit, you can do this. I write patents for a living - if any of my teachers, especially my English teachers learned this, I would be obliged to visit them in the hospital afterward (after the shock wore off)...
