So Monday afternoon I was pondering one of several directions to take with a new build (a classical), when the light bulb pops up over my head: the idea of talking it over with Mike.
Phoning him, I pulled him away from what surely must be a hectic schedule to probe his brain with a number of questions.

Well... as I expected, Mike was not only knowledgeable on his subject, rapidly covering much ground with helpful ideas and useful cautions, but a heck of a nice guy to boot. I'm grateful to Mike, and this community as well for the chance to "meet" such folks.

Many thanks, Mike! Hope you don't get too many calls, now.

Steve

I totally agree. Mike is a true gentleman and ready resource for our community. He shares his years of acquired knowledge readily and usually with a great degree of optimism to boot. [:Y:] [:Y:]

He has always generously answered my queries with great advice ... and photos too! Thanks Mike.

I testify too. He was the first luthier I met in the 80's, and we've gotten together a couple times in the last 5 years, and I appreciated what he's invested into me. A seed that took root! Thanks Mike!

Count me in. I have been on the receiving end of Mike's generosity as well.

Mike's enthusiasm is as great as his generosity.
Looking forward to seeing him in Woodstock!

Mike and I did a little trading, and I got the best end of the deal, as you might expect. He's definitely a nice guy, but we better stop now, or, well..........you know! :D

Thanks guys!
I love to talk guitarmaking !
I'm learning just like everyone on this forum!

Making the best guitars(instruments)is all we want to do .

Sharing info to achieve that goal is,as they say "PRICELESS"

We all learn from each other !

I'm grateful for the young guns that have posted their experiences.

Also -Howard Klepper,David Laplante
Steve Kinnard,Al Carruth, for the sharing and direction they
have given us all!
That's what this place is all about !

Thanks guys !
Mike : ;)

A large part of what Mike contributes is building community in addition to building great guitars. By reaching out in an individual basis he sets a great example. I like the trades too.
