Which glues would be suitable for gluing on a cocobolo bridge as I have heard it can sometimes be difficult to glue.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

IME any glue, as long as the bottom of your bridge is freshly sanded or scraped.

That is the plan - shape the bridge bottom to fit (as per tutorial- thanks Hesh!) just before removing the finish, scrape bridge bottom lightly, then final gluing.

yeah, hide or PVA. Scraping is ideal, but sanding with about 220 grit works just fine. Do this as shortly before gluing as possible. Fresh surface is the main thing, assuming a good fit.
