well, theres a handful of you. i live in visalia, which is about 40 minutes south of fresno. i guess central california is pretty big. maybe i should have been a bit more specific. i was hoping to get a group of folks together in my area to form a luthiers group or something less formal, perhaps. makes it a bit more difficult to do if everyone has to drive a couple of hours to a common place. anyone interested?

No way! I live in a 2300 sq ft brick home that's 10 years old in a nice neighborhood and it only cost $125K. I couldn't hardly by a tent in a KOA campground for that much there!

Besides if I were to ever move back to CA, which I doubt, it would be back up north where I also used to live... Eureka/Ferndale area. Simply beautiful up there.

I hear ya. I moved here to Michigan from Berkeley CA in 2002. In Berkeley I was paying $900/mo for a bedroom, living room and kitchen. In Michigan I bought a 3 br 2-story house with a finished basement, 2 car garage, front and back yard for $108K.

Heath - I've got a sister in Visalia and one in Bakersfield. Can I come?

Wish I could...........just started a new job in South Kansas and will be living in North Central Oklahoma but I need to get out to Visalia sometime in the next year.

Oh, my avatar was taken on the switchback road from Potwisha to Giant Forest - I think facing East. Love that Sequoia Nat. Park!
