A while back I had an unfortunate incident at a friends shop. He had a 220v outlet for his tablesaw with a regular 110v style plug and the long and the short of it is my nearly brand new DW670 is pooched (the older Dewalt lam trimmer that is now discontinued). Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows of a source that still has some left. I would like to still use the base from this one and dedicate it to a binding rig so for other things I can just take the motor out. I found some on ebay for a buy it now of around $180 but originally only paid like $100.

Please steer your friend to the nearest HomeDepot or electrical supply to get a proper 220v outlet and matching plug! Probably less than $15 ....
That's a really bad/dangerous setup with the 110v-style outlet delivering 220v!
Hope you turn up a new motor for your fried unit....
John

Hi Edward,

Not sure how long ago these were discontinued but you might want to try the Black & Decker/Dewalt Service centres. They often have refurbs for sale. A bit of a long shot but they might have what you're looking for.

Where are you located? There's a repair centre in Mississauga.

Rick

Edward

Busy Bee tools in London and Toronto had them on sale this past winter. Some of the stores may still have them in stock.

Tried a couple Dewalt service centers and nobody has anything.
Busy Bee just has one in London but thats nearly 4 hours from me... they cant ship apparently.
Are there any good US online stores I should check? Other than Rockler their shipping to Canada is insane.

And look for an American friend to act as shipping address to get around this PayPal seller condition; "no shipping outside the USA".....
